Build a Custom Tour

Looking for something a little different? At Impactful Travel, we specialize in crafting custom itineraries tailored to your unique travel desires and ethical values.

Build Your Trip

To participate in this tour, please come to the Florencia y Fortunata Café in Cusco. There you will learn about Cusco’s art and syncretism (the fusion of Andean and Western culture), and the history of the Toritos de Pucará.

You will also learn about Totemiq art collective and their collaboration with the Florencia y Fortunata’s project, where the workshop takes place. During the break, the coffee farmers will give you a short presentation about their coffee production.

Get creative!

While enjoying a delicious cocktail made with one of the best locally produced coffee beans, you will learn to work with different materials and techniques, both traditional and contemporary. One of them is the famous Cusco Colonial Gold Leaf technique, so you can decorate your Torito with fine metal sheets (copper, bronze, and aluminum). After that, you will paint the rest of the Torito that you have not overlaid with gold. Lastly, you can even test yourself in augmented reality.

In the end, you will not only take your own Torito de Pucará home as a souvenir. Each adult participant will receive a 250-gr bag of coffee produced by local women entrepreneurs, and children will be given a chocolate bar.

And, if you have some more free days in Cuzco, you can have a look at all of our Day Tours in Cusco. After having acclimatized well in this city, you should be ready to head to Machu Picchu via one of our Cusco Multi-Day Tours

Why is this experience Impactful?

During this workshop, you will not only get closer insights into Peruvian culture, but support local women’s network and entrepeneurships. We work with female artists to give them more visibility, contributing to education and gender equality in the world of coffee here in Cusco.

Furthermore, we collaborate with the café Florencia y Fortunata, a place supporting Peruvian women as well. Together, we try to give just working opportunities and more visibility to local producers. The toritos you will paint come from potters living in Pucará itself.

You can be sure that everyone you will meet during this experience is very well paid. Fair-trade and good salaries are a priority here!
