Just like in any big city, you have to be careful with your belongings in crowded areas. In the case of this tour, you will want to watch your pockets in the last portion of the tour, where it can get very crowded on Fridays and Saturdays. Of course, Peru being a country with big inequalities showing off the latest smartphone or an expensive watch in the street could unfortunately make you a target for thieves. But if you keep a low profile, you should be more than fine! We know the area quite well and after attending 2000+ guests, we have never had any problem.

How likely am I to get sick?

With our tour, extremely unlikely. All the stops are carefully vetted by our team and we run regular checks to make sure they maintain the same standards, both in terms of quality of the food as well as hygiene. Food poisoning is of course something that shouldn’t be ignored in Peru, so we always recommend to eat or drink at places that were recommended by at least one local person. combine with positive online reviews.

I am Canadian and I live in Quebec. I have a BA in International Studies and Languages. After having traveled the world, I decided to specialize in community and solidarity tourism. It is during an international cooperation trip that I did in 2013 that I fell in love with Peru.

I have lived for several years in the capital where I developed a friendship with Jessy Caiado, another expat in Lima. Together we embark on that great adventure that is Exquisito Peru. Our mission is to make you discover how incredible Peruvian gastronomy is through authentic culinary experiences.

We met RESPONS in our beginnings in 2018 and we loved their commitment as well as the shared values, since developing a sustainable and responsible tourism is a pillar of our activities. To reinforce our social commitment, we have established the Impact Eat Foundation in Canada in 2020, to support small producers in Peru thanks to sustainable agrotourism activity.
