Embark on a 4 hour-long walking food tour with our Lima Historic Center’s Street Food Night Tour! Learn about the main historical sites and discover the architectural landmarks of Peru’s capital like the main square (Plaza de Armas), the Government Palace, the Cathedral of Lima, Plaza San Martin and more! While discovering the city, you will get to sample 10 types of foods and drinks, which are all popular on-the-go dining options among locals. Watch out, this is not the typical pisco sour and ceviche tour, we take you slightly off the beaten path.

Meet with your guide and fellow foodies in front of the restaurant Soperos Unidos, our first stop. During this food tour, you will have the chance to taste popular on-the-go delicacies that locals devour when the night comes. While trying some tasteful local treats, you’ll be learning more about Peru’s history and interesting facts around the local – informal – economy and daily life in Peru.

In the historic center of Lima, you will get to observe Lima’s most emblematic architectural masterpieces, of Spanish and Moorish heritage. It will also be a great opportunity for you to watch people and immerse yourself into a truly joyful local experience – we designed this food tour so that you could feel like a real limeñ@!

Although it’s very likely that you will have the chance to taste everything on the menu, please note that it might slightly change depending on seasonality and product availability. But don’t worry, you won’t feel hungry at the end of this Lima’s historic center food tour.

Why is this experience RESPONSible?

We visit several small entrepreneurs in the neighborhood, supporting the local economy. In addition, with the purchase of the tour, travelers contribute to the Impact Eat foundation, established in the wake of the pandemic. The mission of the foundation is to improve the quality of life of small producers in Peru through an agritourism network at the national level, training producers in terms of sustainable tourism and agritourism, but also promoting their products in stores. In addition, we give metal spoons to our guides for tastings in the market and thus avoid the use of single-use plastic.

Emilie Couillard

I am Canadian and I live in Quebec. I have a BA in International Studies and Languages. After having traveled the world, I decided to specialize in community and solidarity tourism. It is during an international cooperation trip that I did in 2013 that I fell in love with Peru.

I have lived for several years in the capital where I developed a friendship with Jessy Caiado, another expat in Lima. Together we embark on that great adventure that is Exquisito Peru. Our mission is to make you discover how incredible Peruvian gastronomy is through authentic culinary experiences.

We met RESPONS in our beginnings in 2018 and we loved their commitment as well as the shared values, since developing a sustainable and responsible tourism is a pillar of our activities. To reinforce our social commitment, we have established the Impact Eat Foundation in Canada in 2020, to support small producers in Peru thanks to sustainable agrotourism activity.
