Lima, the capital of flavors

The burners, stoves, grills and ovens of Lima simply do not stop producing the fire that cook the infinite mixtures of products – equally uncountable – that occur in a territory as vast and varied as the creativity of its chefs, who mostly, in a show of humility and trusting that what best represents them is their dishes, they call themselves simply and proudly: cooks.

Most likely, there isn’t a single traveler that doesn’t know about the culinary reputation of Peru, and let’s just say that for that it is worth it to have such a centralized capital. In Lima all of the cultures and recipes converge.

Huaca Pucllana
The Huaca Pucllana is a pyramid built by the Lima culture (500-700 AD)

A while back, Lima was only another connection between flights from all over the world and Cusco. Spending time in the crowded coastal metropolis provided only a bunch of attractions for the avid travelers in search of their vacation adventure through Peru. But that has changed and we could start by mentioning the number of times that Lima’s restaurants have been on the top world charts but that would take time. Finally, the thing is, who resists good food? Well, as it is said: “the way to someone’s heart is through their stomach”.

Better yet, the food from Lima that has the biggest influence has aligned with sustainability and respects the bans (whose absence in the past sadly ended the extirpation of species), pays the producers what is fair, takes advantage all of the parts of its ingredients, and disposes of its waste in a responsible way.

Now we invite you to enjoy the tiny sins of the palate with no regrets, those that are literally all over the city, but that only those that know it best are capable of showing you, guiding you be it on foot, on a bike, or a different way; day or night.

Somewhere between 4-5 hours will be necessary -but not enough- to soak in the peruvian gastronomy. However, because there are loves that cannot be forgotten, we are certain that you will come back for more as soon as you have the opportunity.
